I received an advanced readers copy of Rough around the Soul in exchange for my honest review.
This book was incredible. I loved the dynamics between Mel and Jake. This is a taboo type story because Mel is a just turned 18 yr old senior in high school, and Jake is a 25 yr old police officer. It is truly a heart wrenching story about two people drawn towards each other. For me the age wasn’t an issue, but then again my hubby is 6 yrs older then me 😉 So if that type of age romance is something you have an issue with, you’ve been warned.
Mel’s life sucks, there’s just no nice way of putting it. I felt for her, I cried with her and I had hopes for her. This story gripped me into an emotional roller coaster rider that was worth the ride!
