Book Review: Rough and Ready by Hayley Faiman

review (2)e6b9a-rough-and-ready-ebook

I received an ARC of Rough and Ready by Hayley Faiman, in exchange for my honest review.

This is a part of the Notorious Devils Book series and is a MC Romance. I’ve read some, but not all of the books in the series, and not even in order. So I can say with all honesty that these are all standalone novels that can be read on their own, all together, in or out of order. Hayley has a way of giving enough back story that we understand relationships with all the characters. She also has a way of making the dark seedy world of MC life seems not as dark and seedy. This series is a watered down version of Sons of Anarchy. Yes there is drugs and guns smuggling along with drugs, drinking and whores, but the reader almost feels disconnected from it. Like a viewer not a participant. This allows you to enjoy the deep love story that is going on between Paxton and the wife he left 11 years ago. Pax or Torch is back in California for his wife Cleo because the club fears retribution from The Cartel. But really its the perfect excuse to go back to the women he loves. There is danger and suspense as Cloe is introduced to this whole new world she had no idea her husband was involved in. Can these two reconnect, learn to trust each other, and remember the love they once shared?

Definitely a good read. Great chemistry between the characters both man and secondary. Great story line, with suspense and plot twists. This is a easy read.
